We, TOKYO ACTi, wish to convey our sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the people who have been affected by the disaster.

Our operation is not affected by the earthquake nor are our properties including electronic data stroage as well as paper files, largely due to the state-of-art building we are in. In addition, all of our attorneys and staff are safe.

We have internally discussed what we can do as TOKYO ACTi and we have decided to assist people affected by the disaster to the maximum extent within our capacity.

Of course, we realize the situations which those affected are in varies from the lack of basic needs. However, we assume there are some people (individuals/companies) who are not so much severely affected but still face Intellectual Property issues that requires urgent attention such as statutory or contractual due date including priority period.

We would like to help those people to get rid of or reduce such worries so that they can focus on more important matters in their lives and businesses. Thus, we have decided that we will provide volunteer (free) counseling for those who are directly or indirectly affected by the disaster both in and outside Japan.

Upon necessity, we will contact and collaborate with responsible agencies, Japanese Patent Attorney Association (JPAA), or other firms that we are closely acquainted.

As it nature, not every problem can be instantly solved. However, as an expert in this field, we hear your problems and as a firm in TOKYO not affected by the disaster, we will contact, explain, petition, and request necessary measures to the responsible agencies and JPAA.

We are sure that soon or later, official policies, as well as official contact information, will be announced. But in the meantime, we believe there are humble contributions that we can make to the best of our poor ability in front of the disaster.

Please email to urgent@tokyo-acti.com for any urgent matters caused by the disaster directly or indirectly that you believe requires assistance.
