OUR TEAM

Success of TOKYO ACTi is a direct result of quality of our people. All of our qualified patent attorneys are committed to achieving the highest of work standards. Our patent attorneys earnestly strive to provide unmatched responsiveness while maintaining the highest of work standards. All of our patent attorneys in charge of pharmaceutical and biotechnology have strong technical background in pharmaceutical science and/or biotechnology from major universities. Some of our patent attorneys are also qualified for other qualifications such as IP specific litigation representative, veterinary, pharmacist, and so on. Some of our patent attorneys have substantial experience in major research institutes, as an in-house patent attorney, and in examinations in the JPO. By bringing those expertise and experience altogether, we strive to ensure highest quality of service.

Uniquely, all of our patent attorneys are involved in both types of work namely, establishing intellectual property as well as enforcing and invalidating intellectual property, which enables us to directly utilize first-hand knowledge and experience obtained in either type for another.

Unlike many other patent law firms, our patent attorneys are familiarized with due date management system. By being experienced in due date management system, the integrity of our docketing system and the efficiency of our attorney work is promoted.

Also unlike many other patent law firms, our patent attorneys are familiarized with online filing system with the JPO as well as other formality matters. This further ensures accuracy of our services and also enables us to extend our responsiveness to the urgent needs from clients (For example, we have an experience that we were urgently contacted by a European company at 11:30 PM explaining that national phase entry due date into Japan would expire in about 30 minutes and claiming that our firm was the only hope. Thanks to our practice, our patent attorneys secured successfully 5 minutes before the expiration.).
